Upon entering Leila’s Jukebox, immediately you get the sense that you are experiencing history. Hundreds of vinyl copies line the walls which are exposed by a neon sign that reads “Cool Kids Go Vinyl”. The space is decorated with vintage furnishings like a hightop table whose base is an ATA case, an orange velvet couch, and a jukebox which hangs off the wall. The lounge is around 1600 sq ft with a dining area, sitting area with flatscreen, a glass office, as well as two production suites, one which adorns the piano that Alicia Keys wrote her hit “Empire State of Mind” on.
The space is dark and industrial with Edison Bulbs and dark wood paneling which lends well as a casual space to collaborate on ideas but also while hosting events. The space is large enough that it can host industry events as well.
Leila’s Jukebox is a New York City based recording studio in the heart of Manhattan. Leila’s JukeBox is apart of the Vinyl Crown Collective and serves as headquarters for Vinyl Crown Publishing LLC. In the past they’ve worked with up-and-coming artists such as H.E.R and Krisirie. The label features artist Saint Cassius, a Grammy award-winning producer who’s contributed on hits such as J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” and Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.” Leila’s JukeBox is privately owned by entrepreneur Justin Cobb but can be rented as a studio.
